Clyde Warren Swick, 83, of Decatur, IL passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday (May 12, 2010).
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday (May 17, 2010) at Florey Cemetery. Macon County Honor Guard will be conducting the military rites. Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Mr. Swick was born on May 22, 1926 in Jasper County, IL, the son of William and Clara Bell (Allen) Swick. He was a millwright in Decatur, IL and owned Clyde Swick Trucking Co. He was a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army serving proudly during WWII and Korea. His passion was building and racing race cars. He married Neva Eileen Chapman on July 3, 1947 in Mayfield, KY. She preceded him in death on April 19, 2010.
Surviving are his daughters: Karen (Dwayne) Bockenfeld of Quincy, IL and Vicki Swick of California; brother: Ted (Dorothy) Swick of Georgia; daughter-in-law: Rinda Swick of Wingo, KY; grandchildren: Lisa Swick, Keith Swick Jr., Jeneen (Michael) Sheehan and Jelette (Eric) Wright; five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son: Keith Swick, two sisters: Edna Curtner and Nova Ervin.
